Submission of printed and electronic copies of theses
Students that intend to graduate must submit both a printed and an electronic copy of their thesis. The printed copy should be submitted to the Faculty office (the number of copies varies) and the electronic copy should be submitted to www.skemman.is. Skemman is the digital repository for The University of Iceland, The University of Akureyri, The University at Bifröst, The Agricultural University of Iceland and the Icelandic Academy of Arts. Skemman houses students‘ final theses as well as research articles by members of the academic staff.
Students should start by submitting an electronic copy of their thesis to Skemman. You can find guidelines on how to do that here. If the thesis is accepted you will receive an e-mail confirming this. This confirmation should be printed and handed in to the Faculty Office along with the printed copy and a declaration of access concerning both copies. Students can choose to open or close access to their electronic copy and the options are listed on the declaration form.
If the thesis is not accepted you will receive an e-mail stating the reason for non-acceptance.
