IIPC renewed agreement

On January 12 a new agreement for the continuing of the International Internet Preservation Consortium – IIPC which is an international association of entities involved in preserving web pages. The signatories are currently 39 in number. This agreement involves a revision of the consortium goals for the next three years. According to this agreement the consortium will be opened up to more members than are currently involved.

The National and University Library of Iceland is a founding member of the IIPC and Þorsteinn Hallgrímsson, assistant national librarian, has been a member of its board in past years. The library will retain its seat in the board with Kristinn Sigurðsson, head of the library's IT-team, replacing Þorsteinn. The library will also participate in the IIPC web harvesting workgroup.
