The Theatre Museum of Iceland now commemorates that 50 years have passed since the founding of the SÁL – Association of people interested in theatre education, in the fall of 1972. On Thursday 13 October 2022 an exhibition was opened in the National and University Library with pictures and documents donated by the students and teachers of the school of SÁL to the Theatre Museum. The school of SÁL was an important institution, a drama school founded and run by the students themselves, during the period 1972-1975. There was a lot of idealism and campaign behind the scenes by the students for new methods of drama and a government drama school.
