In relation to the exhibition of Gísli J. Ástthórsson's works, the National and University Library is collaborating with the Icelandic Comics Society on a small retrospective of Icelandic comics past and present in the Library, which was opened on Thursday, May 11 at 16. At the opening, National Librarian Ingibjörg Steinunn Sverrisdóttir said a few words, and literature professor Jón Karl Helgason gave an informative talk, which he called "The Early Days of Icelandic Comics". The representatives of the Icelandic Comics Society, Atla Hrafney Önnudóttir and Einar Valur Másson spoke about the Society's activities.
