The library of the Faculty of Education of the University of Iceland has been merged with the National and University Library of Iceland. This the first phase in the relocation of the Faculty of Education to the University of Iceland campus.

The largest part of the collection is now in its place in the Library, but a collecction of education books together with a selection of children's books, is still waiting for future housing in the former Hotel Saga, where a branch will be set up when the Faculty of Education moves there. The branch is expected to open before the end of this year and there will also be work facilities for students.

The library of the Faculty of Education of the University of Iceland has always played an important role in the education of teachers in Iceland and it has been a center of knowledge about educational matters and will continue to be so under the new roof.
