The Library´s highlight in June is the 25th issue of the 19. júní (19th of June), the annual publication of the Icelandic Women's Rights Association, which was dedicated to the Year of Women in 1975. It includes a report on a conference at Hotel Loftleiðir on 20-21 June that year, where papers were presented on gender equality developments and peace issues and work was done in working groups. Elfa Björk Gunnarsdóttir writes about how libraries are changing into cultural centers. Valborg Bentsdóttir writes about the tax issues of married couples and explains the work of the Icelandic Women's Rights Association and the International Women's Year. Finally, there is the second part of an article is by Anna Sigurðardóttir, founder of the Women's History Museum, which she calls “Margt smátt gerir eitt stórt“ (Many small things make one big thing) and discusses equality between men and women from a historical perspective.
