Íslenzkt ástarljóð

Íslenskt ástarljóð, kápa

Íslenzkt ástarljóð performed by Sigfús Halldórsson who also composed the song with lyrics by Vilhjálmur from Skáholt.

Íslenskir tónar published the sheet music and the recording on a 78 rpm record in 1953.

Í augum þínum unaðsbláu,
augunum sem ljóma best,
sé ég landið litla vina,
landið, sem ég elska mest.
Litla, fagra, ljúfa vina,
lífið fer að kalla á þig
mundu þá, að þú ert landið,
og þá hefurðu elskað mig.

Litla, fagra, ljúfa vina,
lífstrú mín er bundin þér,
sjáðu hvernig sólin brosir
sigurglöð við þér og mér.
Allt, sem ég um æfi mína
unnið hefi í ljóð og tón,
verður hismi, ef hjartað, vina,
hefur gleymt að elska frón.
