To mark 20 years since the National and University Library of Iceland opened in Þjóðarbókhlaða, the library building at Arngrímsgata 3, two exhibitions were opened on 1 December, Tryggvi Magnússon og skjaldarmerkið (Tryggvi Magnússon and the coat of arms) and Á aðventu 1994 (In Advent 1994). Three of the Library’s projects were also presented: Hljóðsafn, Söguleg íslensk bókaskrá 1534–1844 (the Historical Icelandic Bibliography 1534–1844) and Áttavitinn (the Library’s subject guides). Guðmundur Oddur Magnússon (Goddur) gave a short talk on Tryggvi Magnússon and the coat of arms, and Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, President of Iceland, opened the exhibitions.
