Information Services specialists offer a range of instruction sessions and introductions. University of Iceland faculties or teachers can request instruction for their students.

Interlibrary loans staff copy articles or book chapters from the Library’s holdings for a fee. You do not need a library card to use this service.
Request manuscripts for the Manuscript Reading Room
Material is fetched from the Manuscript Collection’s stores twice a day. Requests must be in by 9:30 and 13:30.
Request a fee-based information search
Information Services specialists carry out information searches for a fee. This service is not intended for students. University of Iceland students are offered help with information searching.
Request help with information searching
University of Iceland students can get a short session of help with information searching. A session is expected to take 30–45 minutes, and students are encouraged to prepare well so that the time is put to the best use.
Request material for the National Collection Reading Room
Material is fetched from the Library’s stores for use in the reading room on the 1st floor.

The lecture hall Lón is on the 2nd floor and seats 80.
Rent the classroom
The classroom Sel is on the 3rd floor and seats 24.
Rent a study room
Scholars, postgraduate students working on a final thesis and others working on a particular research project can apply to rent a study room. Study rooms are rented for a month at a time.
