The Manuscript Collection accepts manuscripts and private archives (letters, diaries, minute books and other papers of individuals and societies). It does not accept records of state or municipal institutions; those belong with the National Archives of Iceland or the regional archives. Before you hand material over to the Manuscript Collection, it is a good idea to contact its staff (handrit (at) landsbokasafn.is) for guidance on how to arrange a private archive.
