Open forum on the dissemination of history

The History Institute of the University of Iceland  offers a two-day open forum on the dissemination of history, which opened in the library on Thursday, September 26, and continues on the University of Iceland square (Háskólatorg) and in the National Archives of Iceland. The conference is held with the support of the rector of the University of Iceland to support social activities. The goal of the conference is to initiate a conversation between academic historians and society and to ask challenging questions about the relationship between scholarship and communication. Attention is drawn to the fact that Jón Sigurðsson’s annual memorial lecture will take place on the first day of the session, where Thomas Cauvin, senior lecturer in history for the public at the University of Luxembourg, will give a talk and discuss the transmission of history with Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, former president of Iceland and professor of history at UI.
