The National and University Library of Iceland takes part in a survey of Icelanders’ attitudes to reading books, to libraries, the effect of Covid-19 on reading, and more.
Reading continues to increase, especially the use of audiobooks, as last year’s survey also showed. Covid-19 has affected the nation’s reading habits, especially the use of audiobooks.
The heaviest users of libraries are respondents with two or more children in the household. About half the nation uses library services.
A fuller account of the survey’s results is on the website of the Icelandic Literature Center (in Icelandic).
