On 24 April the National and University Library of Iceland received permission from the Directorate of Equality (Jafnréttisstofa) to use the equal pay symbol.
A formal audit of the Library’s equal pay system was carried out in March 2019 by Vottun hf. The equal pay certification confirms that the Library operates a pay system that meets the requirements of the equal pay standard ÍST 85:2012. The certification from Vottun hf. is valid until 10 April 2022.
The Library’s equal pay system covers all its staff and includes a professional review of staff pay and job classification, as well as other factors that affect the terms of men and women.
The main aim of equal pay certification is to counter the gender pay gap and promote gender equality in the labour market. The National and University Library of Iceland is proud to have received equal pay certification and to hold the equal pay symbol.
