In 2018, the National Library of Iceland – University Library celebrates 200 years since its founding. To mark the occasion, the museum is hosting a lunchtime lecture series that will discuss its history and role in a broader context. Speakers will include former and current employees of the museum, writers, architects, scholars, artists and other distinguished guests. Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, President of Iceland, will open the lecture series on January 11 with a talk entitled “Documents create a nation. The National Library and the shaping of memories across two centuries.”
You are all very welcome.
