Accessibility for people with disabilities

Parking : Two parking spaces marked for disabled people are near the main entrance.

Main entrance : No threshold and doors open automatically. From the main entrance there is an elevator to the 2nd floor where the library's main service desk is located. Please note that the elevator at the main entrance is smaller than other elevators in the building (the door opening is 76cm and the floor area is 140cm x 110cm). Indoor accessibility : The entire building is wheelchair accessible. There is an elevator from the 2nd floor to the other floors of the building.

Toilets : The building has two toilets for disabled people, one on the 1st floor and the other on the 4th floor. The toilets are next to the elevator.

Reading room : One reading room is specifically designed for people with disabilities. University of Iceland students can apply for access to it through the University's Student Counseling Office, while others can apply through the library's lending services (utlan@landsbokasafn.is).
