The Hagþenki award was presented at the National Library at a ceremony on February 28th.
The Hagþenkir 2013 award committee's report says of the book: "A substantial and solid work of writing that opens the reader's eyes to aspects of Icelandic turf farms in Icelandic cultural heritage." Hjörleifur was born in 1947 and graduated from the University of Iceland in 1967, graduating He graduated in architecture from the University of Trondheim, Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1972. He has written many books on architectural history and architecture. A micro-exhibition has been set up on this occasion in the museum.
