Service of the Manuscript Collection

Manuscripts and private archives are delivered from storage twice a day, at 10 am and 2 pm, but orders must be placed 30 minutes earlier. Orders can be placed by sending an email to handrit@landsbokasafn.is , calling 525-5678, or at the manuscript collection desk on the 1st floor of the National Library. The manuscript collection is open between 9 am and 5 pm every weekday. In the reading room of the manuscript collection and the Icelandic National Collection, certain rules of conduct apply, which visitors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with.
