Philippine Ambassador to the Nordic Countries Bayani S. Mercado visited on June 21, along with Philippine Consul in Iceland Maria Priscilla Zanoria. They presented the museum with two books containing copies of the manuscripts of two novels by José Rizal, the main freedom fighter of the Philippines. He was a doctor and decided to write novels to draw attention to the evils of the Spanish colonialists. He founded a political movement against Spanish rule, but was arrested and executed at the age of 35. The books are in Spanish. They will be registered in Gegni and made available to those who wish to read them at the museum.
