Library Day will be held for the third time in Iceland on Monday, September 9. This time, the day is linked to Literacy Day, which is September 8th every year. The theme of the day is "Reading is best – between the pages". Over 100 libraries are participating, many of which will have a program or change in their activities.
The website www.bokasafn.is with information about the libraries in the country will be opened and a list of the best handbooks according to those who work in libraries will also be presented.
The National Library of Iceland – University Library offers guests a book buffet and screenings of the films National Library 150 Years , made in 1968, and National Library from 1990. It is worth noting that next year the museum celebrates its 20th anniversary, and 2018 will mark 200 years since the founding of the National Library. The screenings will be held in the museum's lecture hall from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Welcome.
