Today, September 8th, is National Library Day and also International Literacy Day. On this occasion, books are being given away and a program is being offered in the lecture hall. The theme of the Library Day is "Reading is the best beyond the ends of the universe."

at 08:15 Our famous gift buffet with a variety of items.

at 11:20 Screening of the movie StarWars: A New Hope 4. (approx. 2 hours in screening)

At 13:30-14:40 Sævar Helgi from the Icelandic Astronomical Society will give a talk and then the staff will perform a game.

at 15:00-16:00 Educational films about the National Library of Iceland and the architectural history of the National Library.
