
On Friday, November 22, an agreement was signed for a Danish-Icelandic database, DAN-ÍS, at the National Library of Iceland – University Library in collaboration with the Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Institute and the Institute of History of the University of Iceland. The event was attended by Vigdís Finnbogadóttir, former President and Mette Kjuel Nielsen, Danish Ambassador to Iceland, Auður Hauksdóttir, Director of the Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Institute, Ingibjörg Steinunn Sverrisdóttir, National Librarian, Anna Agnarsdóttir, Director of the Institute of History, Guðmundur Jónsson, Professor of History, Guðbjörg and Karen Tómasdætur, Gerður Jóhannsdóttir, Anna María Benediktsdóttir, Malene Søholt from the Danish Embassy and Bragi Þ. Ólafsson, Director of the Manuscript Collection.

Auður Hauksdóttir first reported on the research on the influence of Danish culture in Iceland. After that, Anna María Benediktsdóttir spoke about the data collection and presentation that has taken place as part of the project.
Guðbjörg and Karen Tómasdætur presented the documents of their mother Katrína Nørgaard Vigfússon, a photographer, and Gerður Jóhannsdóttir presented the collection of letters and diaries of her mother Birta Fróðadóttir, an interior designer and furniture maker. Finally, Anna María Benediktsdóttir presented the first part of the letters and archives of her parents Inger Elise and Benedikt Bjarni Sigurðsson to the museum.
