A photography exhibition by American artist Jean Larson, opened September 15th.

The photographs are taken in the Westfjords and show nature and the man-made environment in a new light. She calls her exhibition Eylenda Musings.

Jean Larson was born in Ishpeming, Michigan, USA, in 1955 and grew up in Traverse City, Michigan, on the shores of Lake Michigan. Inspired by nature and her surroundings, she began painting at a young age and opened a studio in Traverse City, where she worked until 1984, when she moved to Boston to further her artistic career. Over the next five years, Jean's work gained international recognition, and her paintings can now be found in many private collections in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Galleries across the United States exhibit her work. In 1992, Jean left the United States and traveled throughout Europe, settling in a small village in the South of France, where nature once again inspired her to create art. In 2010, she spent time in Iceland, where she began using photography to deepen her interpretation of the place where nature and the man-made world intertwine and blend. She now plans to divide her time between Iceland, New York, and northern Michigan.
