    The Mountain Woman and the Reykjavik Kitchen



    An exhibition about food and restaurant culture in Reykjavík in the first half of the 20th century will be opened at the National Library on Museum Night, at 8 p.m. on February 8, 2013. The partners of the National Library of Iceland – University Library for the exhibition are the Reykjavík Winter Festival, the Food – History – Culture Association, Reynir Ingibjartsson, the Women's History Museum and the Oral History Center.

    Sago porridge with raisins and cream will be served at the opening. Reynir Ingibjartsson will read a short chapter from Kristín Dahlstedt's memoirs, Nanna Rögnvaldardóttir will talk about the product range and catering at the turn of the century 1900, Auður Styrkársdóttir will give a talk on behalf of the Women's History Museum and Guðjón Friðriksson will talk about Kristín Dahlstedt's catering and offer a walking tour of her path in Kvosinn. An oral history center will be on site and people will have the opportunity to talk about their eating habits or other things related to the topic.
