In 1925, rare visitors arrived in Ísafjörður, almost 90 Greenlanders. The exhibition discusses how this visit was rooted in the dispute between Denmark and Norway over control of part of East Greenland, how the visitors were received in Ísafjörður, the attention it attracted, and what significance it had for relations between the nations.
The exhibition is a collaborative project between the National and University Library of Iceland, the Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Institute, the University of Iceland, and the Museum House in Ísafjörður.
The largest part of the exhibition is in Veröld – Vigdís' house, while another part is in the National Library where you can see books, articles about Greenland and Greenlanders in magazines, and photographs.
The exhibition runs until April 29th.
