On the occasion of the centennial of Gísli J. Ástþórsson, his family donated a variety of documents from his possession to the museum; manuscripts, original drawings, publications and more, and an exhibition was opened in the museum on his birthday, April 5th.

In the picture are, in addition to Ingibjörg Steinunn Sverrisdóttir, the National Librarian, Hrafnkell Gíslason, Kristín Erla Boland, the widow of Hólmfríður Gísladóttir, and Ástþór Gíslason.
