The Hagþenki Award was presented on March 9. This year's award went to Pétur H. Ármannsson for his book Guðjón Samúelsson húsameistari.

The award committee's report states about the publication: "It will not escape anyone who reads this book that this is an extremely meticulous work, truly based on "extensive and quality research and a deep understanding of the subject." On this occasion, a small exhibition has been set up in the National Library, which will run until September 20th.
