The National Library of Iceland – University Library awarded recognition by the Icelandic Language Committee for the websites Tímarit.is and Bækur.is

At a language development conference hosted by the Icelandic Language Committee on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, entitled The Language and the Internet, the committee's awards were presented, and the National Library received an award for the websites Tímarit.is and Bækur.is. Kristinn Sigurðsson, Head of Information Technology, and Örn Hrafnkelsson, Director of Preservation and Digital Reproduction, accepted the award on behalf of the museum. The Árni Magnússon Foundation received an award for the ÍSLEX dictionary project. Þórdís Úlfarsdóttir, Editor-in-Chief, and Halldóra Jónsdóttir, Project Manager and Editor, accepted the award.
