In connection with the exhibition of the works of Gísli J. Ástþórsson, the National Library has collaborated with the Icelandic Comics Society on a small retrospective exhibition of Icelandic comics past and present in the National Library, which was opened on Thursday, May 11 at 4 p.m. At the opening, National Librarian Ingibjörg Steinunn Sverrisdóttir said a few words and literary scholar Jón Karl Helgason gave an informative talk that he called "The Years of Icelandic Comics". Representatives of the Icelandic Comics Society, Atla Hrafney Önnudóttir and Einar Valur Másson, spoke about the activities of the society.
