BORDERLANDS

    BORDERLANDS

BORDERLANDS | BORDERLANDS is an exhibition organized by the book group ARKIR that is on the program of the Reykjavík Arts Festival. The exhibition will be open from Friday, August 21, 2020, in the exhibition space of the National Library. The exhibition will run until Sunday, September 20. More information about events related to the exhibition will be announced later.

JAÐARLÖND is an exhibition of book works by sixteen artists from seven countries: ten ARKIR and six foreign artists. The title of the exhibition, JAÐARLÖND, refers to a world on the edge of the world, an edge that is, when you look closely, constantly changing throughout world history. In a variety of book works, the artists examine countries and borders, texts and languages, nature and cultures from different perspectives.

The exhibition is composed of recent works that have only been shown in the United States in the traveling exhibition BORDERLAND, and new and older books by ARKA and their guests from Denmark, Norway, Lithuania, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
