Jón Múli Árnason (1921-2002) was nationally known for his work as a radio host and songwriter. He composed numerous popular songs that live with the nation and is among the nation's most beloved composers. Jón Múli composed various musicals and revues in company with his brother Jónas, and most of his song and dances were written for their brothers' revues. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Jón Múli's birth, an exhibition has been set up in the museum in collaboration with Vopnafjarðarhrepp, which stands at the Múlastofa. For this occasion, Jón Múli's family has donated various documents from his possession to the museum, and the exhibition features a diverse selection of material from his career.
The exhibition runs until August 16th.
