National campaign launched today, March 19th, at 11 a.m. in the National Library lecture hall.
This year, Icelanders celebrate the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage. To mark the occasion, the National Library of Iceland-University Library, the National Archives of Iceland, and the regional archives are organizing a national campaign to collect women's documents and encourage citizens to donate them to archives. Letters, diaries, and other personal documents can provide insight into the lives of individuals and their families, but they also shed light on the history of the country and nation.
