The National and University Library of Iceland participates in events related to 100th anniversary of women's suffrage with a grand exhibition that will open on May 16, 2015. The first event organized by the anniversary committee – and a prelude to the anniversary year – is a lecture by Bríetar Bjarnhéðinsdóttir from 1887, the first lecture by a woman in Iceland, which will be read in Iðnó on December 30th at 4:00 PM.
