On April 24th, the National and University Library of Iceland received permission from the Icelandic Equal Opportunities Agency to use the equal pay symbol.
A formal audit of the museum's equal pay system was conducted in March 2019 by Vottun hf.. The equal pay certification is confirmation that the museum operates a pay system that meets the requirements of the equal pay standard ÍST 85:2012. Vottun hf.'s authorization is valid until April 10, 2022.
The National Library of Iceland – University Library equal pay system covers all employees of the library and includes a professional review of staff salaries, job classification, as well as other factors that affect the conditions of men and women.
The main goal of equal pay certification is to work against the gender pay gap and promote gender equality in the labor market. The National Library of Iceland – University Library is proud to have received equal pay certification and to be the holder of the equal pay mark.
