The artworks in the collection come from a variety of sources. The work above is Autumn Night/Meadow People by Gunnlaug Scheving1904-1972. Some of the works come from the National Library of Iceland or the University Library from the earlier times of these collections, while others are more recent additions. Many gifts were received on the occasion of the establishment of a new collection, the National Library of Iceland – University Library, when the two older collections merged in 1994.
