Symposium in memory of Halldór Hermannsson, librarian of the Fish Museum, at the National Library, October 11-12, 2018.

LITERATURE – NORSE STUDIES – CULTURE
A symposium in memory of Halldór Hermannsson, librarian of the Fiske Icelandic Collection at Cornell University in the United States, will be held in the National Library's lecture hall on October 11-12. The symposium is being held on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the National Library of Iceland – University Library in collaboration with The Fiske Icelandic Collection at Cornell University in the United States, the Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies, and the US Embassy.

Halldór was one of our most important and productive bibliographers. His catalogue of the works of the Fiskesafn was used as a bibliography for many Icelandic museums, and his bibliographies published in the Islandica series are fundamental works in research in Nordic studies.
