
On Thursday, February 20, Benedikt Hjartarson, professor of literary studies at the University of Iceland, gave a talk at the museum about Medusa in light of the international work of surrealists in the 1980s in connection with an exhibition that has been set up about Medusa in the museum's lobby. Benedikt is one of the editors of the series A Cultural History of the Avant-Garde in the Nordic Countries , and an upcoming volume in that series will include an article about Medusa written by Úlfhildur Dagsdóttir. The event was in collaboration with the Institute for the Study of the Avant-Garde at the University of Iceland.
Furthermore, Medúsa's relatives, Sjón, Jóhamar, Einar Melax and Ólafur J. Engilbertsson, delivered documents to the National Library related to Medúsa, publications, manuscripts, posters, brochures and more and introduced the new edition of the magazine Geltandi vatn . Þór Eldon and Matthías Magnússon were unable to attend. Ingibjörg Steinunn Sverrisdóttir, National Librarian, received the documents and a contract was signed to this effect.
