On Saturday, March 8, an exhibition was opened at the National Library in honor of the poet, sculptor, and actress Melitta Urbancic. A symposium on Melitta's life and work was held at the opening of the exhibition and the program ran from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Melitta's book of poetry, Frá hjara veraldar / Vom Rand der Welt, was published the same day in a bilingual edition by the Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Foundation and the University Press. The symposium was well attended, and it is estimated that there were close to 250 people in the building at its peak.
