On Tuesday, October 27, an exhibition was opened to mark the 60th anniversary of Halldór Laxness receiving the Nobel Prize in Literature. The exhibition is a collaboration between Gljúfrastein – the poet's house, RÚV and the National Library of Iceland – University Library.
The exhibition features a variety of documents from Halldór Laxness's archive, which is preserved in the National Library, artifacts from Gljúfrasteini, and the Nobel Prize itself, which is in the custody of the Central Bank of Iceland. RÚV has also created a special website dedicated to Halldór Laxness' Nobel Prize.
Writer Þórarinn Eldjárn is writing the text for the exhibition, while the exhibition team consists of Guðný Dóra Gestsdóttir, Bragi Þ. Ólafsson and Ólafur J. Engilbertsson. The exhibition runs until March 31, 2016.
