Swedish Collection

The Swedish collection is built on two book donations from the Swedish Parliament, first in 1930 for the 1000th anniversary of the Althing and then in 1974 to commemorate 1100 years of settlement in Iceland. This includes Swedish publications related to Iceland as well as Swedish literature and publications on the cultural history of Sweden.
On December 1, 1994, the National and University Library of Iceland received the Swedish family history Hallwylska Samlingen, in 67 volumes, as a gift from the Nordic House.
