
The National Library of Iceland is participating in the Museum Night with Gunnar Marel Hinriksson, a specialist in the manuscript collection, speaking about Bishop Guðbrand's Icelandic maps and magic manuscripts in the Museum House tonight, February 2, between 8 and 9 p.m. In addition to Gunnar, there will be other experts from the museums that have works in the exhibition Perspective – a journey through the Icelandic visual world in the Museum House. From the Árni Magnússon Institute of Icelandic Studies, Gísli Sigurðsson, a research professor, will discuss the outstanding artifact that is currently in the spotlight. Jóhanna Guðmundsdóttir, archivist at the National Archives, will chat with guests about the content of the special exhibition Mirror of the Contemporary 1770, about letters from the people to the National Committee. Viðar Hreinsson, a writer and naturalist, will meet with the Natural History Museum and chat about art, nature and science and the interaction between them, with an emphasis on the learned Jón Guðmundsson.
Ágúst Ó. Georgsson from the National Museum comes and talks about a photo magazine that shows the main jobs of people in the countryside in the latter half of the 19th century.
