The Institute of History of the University of Iceland celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2021. To mark the anniversary, an exhibition was opened in the National Library on Thursday, September 2, about the history of the institute and its activities. The exhibition sheds light on the history of the Institute of History, research and teaching in history over a period of half a century. The exhibition features numerous photographs from the Archives of the Institute of History, the H.Í. Photo Collection and other collections. The exhibition also features videos from the collections of RÚV and the Archives of the University of Iceland and audio recordings from the collection of the Center for Oral History. The exhibition is open until the end of November. The exhibition is a collaborative project between the Institute of History of the University of Iceland and the National Library of Iceland – University Library. The exhibition runs until November 22, 2021.
