SG records 50 years

    SG records 50 years

It has now been 50 years since the SG-hjómplútur publishing company was founded. On this occasion, a small exhibition has been set up in the museum. SG-hljómplútur was the publishing company of musician and broadcaster Svavar Gest (1926-1996), which he founded in 1964. In total, the company released 80 small, 45 rpm (45 rpm) records and 180 large, slow-motion 33 rpm (LP) records during the 20 years that the company was in operation. The role of Svavar Gest and SG hljómplútur in Icelandic music history is invaluable. With the publication, the works of artists who would otherwise have disappeared into the dustbin have been preserved. Various bands, soloists, choirs, comedy, folk songs, Christmas material, plays, children's songs. poetry readings and rhymes can be found in the SG hljómplútur publishing collection.
