An exhibition about Sigvaldi Kaldalóns opened at the National Library on May 24, 2017. The exhibition is made possible with a grant from the Sigvaldi Kaldalóns Memorial Fund and is a collaboration between the fund, Snjáfjallasetur and the National Library of Iceland – University Library. The original version of the exhibition was mounted by Snjáfjallasetur in Dalbær on Snæfjallaströnd in 2004 and was later mounted in Ísafjörður and Hólmavík. At the exhibition, you can listen to recordings of Sigvaldi Kaldalóns music preserved in the National Library of Iceland – University Library’s Sound Collection and see sheet music versions of the composer’s songs that were first published about a hundred years ago.
The exhibition ran until April 3, 2018.
