Landskerfi bokohnagar hf. (LB) and Rekstrarfélag Sarps (RS) have concluded a service agreement that is valid for two years starting from 1 September. On the basis of the collaboration, LB will take over the daily operations of RS and Sarps's professional manager will start working with facilities on LB's premises. The goal of the collaboration is to achieve:
- increased quality control through cataloging in Sarpur,
- more robust user service for Sarp,
- increased public access to data in Sarpi by making it accessible through leitir.is, as well as
- harmonization in the cataloging of different collections in the long term.
RS is a public entity owned by numerous state and local government-owned museums and institutions, such as the National Museum of Iceland, regional museums and other museums and institutions that preserve source collections. The company owns and operates the Sarp database.
