On the occasion of the centenary of the death of Þorvaldur Thoroddsen on September 28, an exhibition about Þorvaldur and his life's work was opened at the National Library.
The exhibition is supported by the Icelandic Museum of Natural History, the Icelandic Society of Natural History and
National Library of Iceland – University Library in collaboration with the Icelandic Institute of Natural History, the Icelandic Meteorological Office, the Icelandic Literary Society, the Icelandic Geological Society, the Icelandic Biological Society, the Icelandic Glacier Research Society and the Icelandic Science Society.
The exhibition includes artifacts and photographs owned by the National Museum of Iceland, commemorative coins preserved by the Central Bank of Iceland, a bust and geological maps owned by the Icelandic Institute of Natural History.

The exhibition runs until March 18, 2022.
