Orðstír, an honorary award for translations of Icelandic literature into foreign languages, is presented every other year in connection with the Icelandic Literature Festival. The recognition is given to individuals who have translated works from Icelandic into another language with quality and with such success that they have increased the prestige of Icelandic culture abroad.

The Orðstír honorary award was awarded in 2021 to Tone Myklebost from Norway and Tina Flecken from Germany.

Tone Myklebost has translated books by many and different Icelandic authors into Norwegian for three decades, to great acclaim, and in 2019 she received an award from the Norwegian Translators' Association for her work. Tone has translated works by Sjón, Jón Kalman Stefánsson, Einar Má Guðmundsson, Halldór Laxness, Gerður Kristnýja and Auður Öva Ólafsdóttir, among others. In total, Tone has translated nearly 50 books, all of which have been Icelandic winners of the Nordic Council Literature Prize for the past twenty-five years. 

Tina Flecken has translated dozens of Icelandic books of various genres, including works by Andri Snær Magnason, Yrsa Sigurðardóttir, Sigríður Hagalín Björnsdóttir, Guðrún Eva Mínervudóttir, and Sjón. Tina first came to Iceland in 1987 as an exchange student. She later studied Icelandic at the University of Iceland. When Iceland was the guest of honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2011, she says that a great interest in Icelandic literature was sparked in Germany.
