The 30th anniversary of the National Library was celebrated on December 4th, and at the same time, the publication of the National Library of Iceland – University Library's best-seller, The Collection of Times, was celebrated.

Halldóra Kristinsdóttir and Hildur Ploder Vigfúsdóttir, the editors of the book, introduced it and the authors read from it.

The book, published by the Icelandic Literary Society in collaboration with the museum, aims to shed light on the diversity of the collection. It draws attention to previously under-discussed material, mixed with more well-known treasures in the collection. Photographs of each selected item are published along with text describing it. The authors of the texts are both current and former museum employees.

An exhibition of selected artifacts has been opened in the museum.
