Yesterday marked one hundred and thirty years since the birth of Páll Eggert Ólason, but he still shapes our view of the past today; Páll Eggert compiled, among other things, the Icelandic Biographies and the Manuscript Index of the National Library of Iceland, as well as writing a five-volume biography of Jón Sigurðsson. Bragi Þorgrímur Ólafsson, director of the manuscript collection of the National Library of Iceland, talks about Páll Eggert and his work in Víðsjá today.
