The exhibition Books is being installed on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the National Library of Iceland, but recently there has been an increased emphasis on the unique position of books in the collection and a special book collection is being developed as part of the National Library's special collections. The exhibition is located on the 3rd floor of the Library's multi-purpose hall and will be open from 7 June 2018–2 June 2019.
The term "book" has multiple meanings in Icelandic, and books are diverse.
