Audiobooks and films
The library accepts legal deposits of audio recordings, which are any medium containing recordings of speech and sounds, such as audio files, records, cassettes, CDs and audio books. This material is preserved in the library's audio and video collection , the museum's electronic archive.
Submitting music
If the material is published in tangible form, such as records, CDs or cassettes, three copies must be submitted. They can be sent by post or delivered to the museum's reception desk, marked Audiovisual Collection.
If material is published in digital form, a copy of its files is returned or access to them is provided on online services.
The legal deposit obligation rests with the publisher .

Submitting audiobooks
If an audiobook is published on CD or other tangible form, three copies of the book must be submitted. They can be sent by mail or delivered to the library's reception, marked audio and video library.
It is recommended that the material be accompanied by a return form, which is a simple form that contains information about the publisher, titles, and number of copies being returned. A return form can be found here to fill out and print.
You can also obtain a mandatory return form from the museum's front desk and fill it out on site.
If an audiobook is published in digital format, a copy of its files is returned using the library's electronic return box or provided with copy access to it on online services.
If there are multiple files and/or files larger than 500mb, the material can be submitted through other means, such as cloud services such as WeTransfer, Dropbox, etc.
The obligation to return rests with the issuer .

Submitting films
The Icelandic Film Museum accepts legal deposits of films.
